The ORAA fosters, develops and regulates aeronautical activities within the State. Activities of the ORAA include recommending policies governing aeronautical activity, management of State financial and technical assistance grants programs, and licensing and regulation of public-use airports in Maryland. There are 136 airports in the State, of which 36 are public-use facilities with three offering scheduled air carrier service.
